Elementary
The elementary Italian course teaches elementary level standard Italian with a focus on communication skills, basic grammar, and listening and reading skills necessary for success in introductory Italian as a foreign language. New language is introduced systematically and at a steady pace, allowing students to increase their knowledge of the language and build their confidence. By the end of this elementary course, you will be able to hold a basic conversation in Italian.
This level corresponds to the A1 level of The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
PRE-INTERMEDIATE
Pre-intermediate language course is a course for students who already have a solid foundation in the language. A new language is introduced systematically, allowing students to extend and consolidate their knowledge of the language. New vocabulary is introduced regularly with a lot of practice activities, allowing students to immediately activate the language in a supported way.
This level corresponds to the A2 level of The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Intermediate
The intermediate Italian course is intended for people who already have some experience in Italian. The communicative emphasis gives students plenty of opportunities to put language into practice. By the end of this Intermediate course, you will be able to describe situations and events, write texts and cope with coherent language. You will be able to communicate quite confidently.
This level corresponds to the B1 level of The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

- CELI certificate, issued by Perugia University for Foreigners, is the Italian language passport that is recognized all over the world!
- CELI 1 This exam verifies the understanding of the Italian language at basic and ‘survival’ levels within an Italian-speaking society. The candidate should possess the skills necessary for communicating in the most common daily situations. The exam consists of four sections: written comprehension test; written skills test; aural comprehension test; oral skills test.
- CELI 2 This exam verifies the understanding of the Italian language at the post-elementary level. The candidate should possess the skills necessary for interacting in social and tourism situations. The exam consists of four sections: written comprehension test; written skills test; aural comprehension test; oral skills test.
- CELI 3 This exam verifies the understanding of the Italian language at the intermediate level. The candidate should possess the skills necessary for interacting in social situations which require more active participation. The exam consists of five sections: written comprehension test; written skills test; language skills test; aural comprehension test; oral skills test.
- CELI 4 This exam verifies the understanding of the Italian language at the advanced level. The candidate should possess the skills necessary for interacting in Italian-speaking environments, participating and communicating actively for study or work purposes. The exam consists of five sections: written comprehension test; written skills test; language skills test; aural comprehension test; oral skills test.
- CELI 5 This exam verifies the understanding of the Italian language at the advanced level. The candidate should possess the skills necessary for interacting in all social and professional contexts. The exam consists of five sections: written comprehension test; written skills test; language skills test; aural comprehension test; oral skills test.
